Medjool Dates and Sweet Banana Breakfast Smoothie

One of my favorite breakfast treats, full of flavor, full of goodness! Perfect to start the day especially when you need an injection of energy. That is all I am going to tell you today. Sometimes I even need a day off writing 😉

RECIPE

  • time 5 minutes
  • difficulty easy
  • diet without sugar, gluten, dairy

 

WHAT YOU NEED

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 natural dates (I use the medjool variety)
  • ½ cup of blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon of chia seeds
  • 2 or 3 pecans (nuts) or walnuts
  • ½ cup of any plant milk (organic soya, almond, rice, oats)
  • 3 tablespoons of oats
  • 1 tablespoon of maple syrup (vegan) or natural honey (maple syrup – lower GI – and is less caloric than honey)
  • ½ tablespoon of organic coconut oil

METHOD

  1. Put all of the ingredients (apart from a few nuts) into a blender and blend until you get a smooth consistency
  2. Pour it into a lovely jar, decorate with the remaining nuts and optional maple syrup or honey
  3. Such an amazing  source of energy and health.
